This summer, our family traveled to Langkawi, Malaysia, and stayed at The Danna Langkawi —

The hotel’s signature infinity pool merges seamlessly with the sea beyond it. In the morning, sunlight turns the water emerald green; by evening, it glows gold with the sunset. It’s a view we never got tired of.

Coffee, Roti, and Local Flavor

Malaysia’s food culture was one of the trip’s biggest surprises. Orange peel coffee — fragrant, slightly citrusy, and completely unlike anything we’d tried before — became a daily ritual. And freshly made roti canai, flaky and served with curry sauce, was the kind of simple dish that’s hard to forget.

Beach Time at HIDDEN

Just steps from the hotel, a private beach of white sand and clear water offered the perfect place to slow down. At the beachside café HIDDEN, iced coffee and mango lassi were the ideal way to cool off — simple pleasures that summed up the whole trip.

Into the Mangroves: Kilim Geoforest Park

No visit to Langkawi is complete without exploring Kilim Geoforest Park by boat. Towering limestone cliffs, wild eagles circling overhead, and macaques resting in the mangrove roots — it’s a landscape you simply can’t find in the city, and our child was thrilled by every minute of it.
